Raku Collection

Description

Raku is an interesting form of pottery, where the firing is done in a kiln with an actual fire. (I used an electric kiln for all of my other works) The fire uses up the oxygen, which makes the glazes come out a lot differently than they would under regular conditions. Coupled with the effects of the smoke and the fire, this makes for a very unique look. This is a series of works I did in the Raku style. I mixed all of the glazes for these, instead of using store-bought glazes, and I used white clay instead of the regular clay all of my other pieces are made from. These are some of my favorites. They are also my most recent work in ceramics. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do.

I'm not going to lie to you, these are probably my favorites. I like all my stuff, though, but then again, I may be a tad bit biased :) lol

These are gorgeous. I think my favorite is the one on the right of the front row. Reminds me of a salt/pepper shaker :)
